ASIS Pain

Patient: 45 year old female

CC: Right side ASIS pain.

Symptoms: 7/10 throbbing pain at its worst, sometimes gone. Location is exactly at ASIS. Does disturb sleep. No other hip or LB injuries. Came on suddenly about 10 months ago. Does not recall what doing when first noticed.

Mechanical Triggers: standing, pressing on it, walking sometimes. Getting out of car always aggravates.

Other: patient is very active. Pilates, strength training, can do all daily activities. Did have imaging done (I have not see report) and all findings negative. Tried massage and PT with dry needling - no positive changes.

Reports diastases rectus, youngest child 5 years old, scheduled to have "mommy make-over" surgery in October.

Lower Body Extore:
Failed: right side TFL and Glut Med.

Other: I had her do a figure 4 to check if Satorius was in play and there was restriction on right side but no pain.

Treatment:
PSOAS pecking right (I did not note she failed that but maybe did not chart)
PP: Rt TLF, Glut Med and Satorius.

I was thinking of using EA @ 2 HZ on Satorius but pt. super jumpy so held off. I have done before with good results, different case.

Then I did LB profusion txt with some traditional Acu points for calming nervous system, nourishing tendons, etc.

Results: No change at a 3 day and 1 week check in. After session pt had to go out of town, then so did I.

Question: Kinda unsure what to do next session. Retest, do PP if anything fails, then see if she will tolerate Satorius @ 2Hz. Otherwise I don't really have other ideas.

@Exstoreman
Any direction?

Thank You!

1) Anthony mentioned metrics that he tracks every week to determine how the clinic is performing. I have metrics but would like to compare them to yours. Can you share this?

2) There were 100-140 questions list he mentioned. I used to have this but could I get it again?

Initial Strength, Mobility, or Pain Acupuncture Consultation Framework

Step 1: Build Rapport

Patient Walks Into the Clinic

Hello, are you (Patient's Name)?

My name is (Acupuncturist's Name). It's nice to meet you.

(Learn their name before they arrive so you can greet them confidently without looking at a chart.)

Before the Visit

  • Initial paperwork should be completed online whenever possible.

  • Have consent forms printed and ready.

  • For pain patients, provide a body diagram to mark today's areas of concern. This creates a visual baseline that can be compared during future re-evaluations.

"There are just a few consent forms to complete before we begin. Please mark the areas you're experiencing on this body diagram, and we'll go over everything together once we're in the treatment room."

Getting Comfortable

How did you hear about our clinic?
